The New Jersey Transit Police Department (NJTPD) Office of Emergency Management (OEM), together with local partners, will conduct a training exercise on Saturday, September 23, at Newark Light Railâs Grove Street Facility beginning at 9 a.m.
The drill, which will gauge responses to a simulated transportation incident, will take about three hours to complete. As a result of the drill, customers should expect to see an increased presence of police and emergency personnel on the Newark Light Rail between Branch Brook Park Station and Grove Street Station. This is the latest in a series of periodic drills that NJTPD OEM conducts along the agencyâs system every year.
This drill will have no impact on light rail service.
In addition to the NJTPD personnel, the Essex County Sheriffâs Department is also participating in the exercise.
